The game won awards for its sound irrc.

The devs are not responsible for the fact that you cannot focus on footsteps if other sounds are playing.

    Ruxem Don't be so ridiculous.

Just look through the threads on this forum about how terrible the sound is, and the problems we are having, such as death by Silent Tanks. Omnidirectional footsteps instead of Directional footsteps so you get a clue where the enemy is coming from.

Do some research next time instead of telling someone else they are rubbish.

Here are a few examples to get you started >

I'll never understand the sound complaints. If I get shot at, I can always easily tell which direction it came from, especially snipers. I always joke with buddies that if someone is sniping me, don't miss, because I'm gonna know where it came from and easily counter snipe you.

Footstep audio is also insanely accurate. I take advantage of it all the time to figure out which direction someone is running.

    Raansu86

I do agree with your sentiment. It's not All of the time, but it is a Lot of the time that we seem to have these issues.

I can sometimes tell where a shot is coming from, but there are lots of times I can't. The same with the silent tanks etc, and I have even had a chopper strafe me from behind, and fly over head from the rear and continue straight on, and yet I did not hear a single thing except for the bullets, which by then was too late. No chopper sound at all, just the minigun.

I'm not reading 5 posts of skill issues.

  • I'm gonna keep it real I'm pretty hard of hearing myself but can often have some amount of tabs kept on audio.

Even then despite my disability I know the game HAS to have those sounds playing all together for a number of reasons, but chiefly immersion and balance. Players play BF to get those high octane immersive battles and that needs gunfire, explosions, drones, voicelines, and footsteps. You get to FEEL like you're there and enjoy what's crafted. For balance it means then you could maybe use explosions as distractions for your advance, or perhaps not have your drone always hidden away in some cheesy spot.

Trust me I get mad when I die to something I can't hear and that's universally in ANY game I play, but I also know that there's a point to it and if anything it's better put to wanting stronger accessibility features for hard of hearing and/or deaf players like myself.

Granted I think your frustrations are more solely competitively minded but still hope you some of what I say works for you.

4c85a0254445d0b1 Hey, appreciate the feedback on this one. I put together some steps that may help with this in the meantime.

    Current In-Game Audio Adjustments

    • Lower Effects Volume to reduce explosions and environmental sounds.
    • Lower Vehicle Volume if available in your audio mix settings.
    • Lower Music Volume and Menu Music Volume.
    • Use the Headphones audio preset rather than Home Theater or Surround.
    • Reduce Dialogue Volume if voice lines are contributing to clutter.
    • Increase Master Volume afterward to compensate.

    Common Community Suggestions

    • Use the Headphones mix because it tends to make footsteps easier to distinguish.
    • Disable unnecessary audio processing from third-party software (SteelSeries Sonar, Nahimic, ASUS Sonic Studio, etc.) if it muddies the mix.
    • Use a custom EQ profile that reduces low frequencies where explosions, vehicle engines, and environmental rumble sit.
    • Some players boost the 2–4 kHz range to make footsteps, and soldier sounds stand out more.

I don't think tanks are all that quiet. I can usually hear them from pretty far away. They only seem "quiet" when there's a lot of other noise around, which is kinda realistic. You're not gonna hear a diesel engine over gunfire and explosions.
