You people are missing the point entirely. Many of you may come from other games but this is battlefield. Plugging in joysticks/controllers for vehicles has been a key part of the experience, which you are attempting to ruin with your half throught out suggestions. When you make IBMM, you essentially are creating a separate game experience. This is basic logic which I feel is not being applied. Those without IBMM cannot join IBMM and vice versa. This is essentially the same as open vs closed weapons. Please dont make bad arguments like "oh this is for input thats for weapons" they are all the same in this context. They split the playerbase. We already have open vs closed as a split, now each of those will get IBMM, so now the community is split 4 ways?
No, the best solution is to just remove the aim assist and let controller users suffer for their choices, however if you insist on a system like this here is a better one.
Before the match, you make a choice. Mouse, or controller.
If you choose controller, mouse input will be removed for everything except areal vehicles. Your controller input will get aim assist and you will match only with that input.
If you choose Mouse, you can still use controller, but there will be ZERO aim assist. You will not match with any controller input people.
This is still a horrible idea since the players are still split in 4 but its better than the garbage that was originally proposed.
