This solution is incredibly poorly thought out and does not use basic logic to understand the true problem. This type of lack of critical thinking is dangerous. The solution does not account for vehicles. Vehicles should be allowed whatever form of input you would like to use, and on top of that, for m&k lobbies, controllers should work just fine, but not have ANY aim assist.
The important thing that you are FAILING to comprehend is that this solution WILL SPLIT THE ALREADY SPLIT BASE IN 2.
OPEN weapons IBMM
CLOSED weapons IBMM
OPEN weapons no IBMM
CLOSED weapons no IBMM
Why push this when instead you can push for the best solution, like gyro aim and letting controller players suffer for their poor choices..
I think you completely missed the logic here. this has nothing to do with open/closed weapon lobbies. those will most likely be different game modes like in the beta...
the point of this discussion is the long lived controversy between what is better, controllers, or m&k. everyone has split opinions on that so the best way to end the controversy is to split the matchmaking bias based on what input device you use.
Hate to say it, but take the recent call of dutys for example. the game makes you pick what input device you prefer and matches you up with players that prefer the same device as you. That way no matter what system you play on, whether its pc or console, you only matchmake with players using the same input device as you whether you play on controller of m&K. And this IBMM feature cannot be turned off.
That being said, on COD, the servers are still universal. you can lobby up with a buddy who plays m&k when you prefer controller and still find lobbies. Or if the overall player count on the game/gamemode is low the matchmaking will default and match you up with mix input sessions. Its a brilliant feature that absolutely nobody disagreed with. That matchmaking system is what the players want out of bf6. Thats why this is a topic for discussion on EA Forums and Reddit in the first place. Its simple, keeps things even, and it works.
The question is, will DICE be doing this with BF6?
