Suppression mechanic could use some improvement.
To start off: Suppression feels very difficult to 'trigger', especially when running an LMG. To not mince words, or beat around the bush. Put simply, when you see a group of 5+ enemies tightly packed behind cover. and spray into said group of enemies, specifically in an attempt to "suppress" them, and you proceed to empty an entire 100 round box at them, just to not get a single instance of "suppression" triggering. is unacceptable. Something clearly was poorly designed when figuring out how to make "suppression" trigger. especially when grinding for something like the M240L, the initial requirement to complete a challenge to "suppress" 300 enemies, is extremely tedious. I've played multiple rounds of Conquest, and Breakthrough, and despite focusing on trying to get "suppression" against players, I get less than 10 suppressions per match. Which in turn leads to an extremely unsatisfying grind, that makes players not want to continue playing due to challenges like this.
So, I propose making the 'suppression' mechanic more easily triggered. Supposedly you have to "fire within 5 meters of an enemy without hitting them" in order to trigger suppression. this is obviously not the case, or I'd be seeing more suppressions, decrease the threshold to trigger suppression, make it more consistent, and I'd be happy.
I also believe that suppression could be slightly buffed in general, as the effects of suppression do effectively nothing to change the gameplay experience. simply limiting health regeneration for a few seconds while under suppression doesn't do a thing. I would suggest experimenting with a few more severe effects of being under suppression, or perhaps even have levels of suppression.
Instead of just delaying health regeneration, make it so that: 1 - players move slowly. or can't start sprinting while under suppression, : 2 - increase the 'bloom' of players under suppression, to make it harder for them to simply immediately killing a player suppressing them. : 3 - add a tunnel vision, or more severe vignette effect to players who are being suppressed heavily. including a ringing sound, accompanied by muffled hearing.
But most importantly, fix the triggering of suppression in the first place, it shouldn't be extremely difficult to trigger suppression against an enemy.
