You couldn't really "hop" around in the beta, at least not in the way you could in Battlefield 2042. The only exception is when you were specifically using exploits. It's great that they fix the exploits, but I don't like what I'm seeing when it comes to the movement changes.
If we are talking about the sway penalty from sliding into a jump, or jumping into a slide, it seems the beta was already fine in that regard and didn't need nerfing. I'm fine with penalties for consecutively sliding/jumping within a short duration though. - GrizzGolf2 months agoSeasoned Ace
I'm all for the movement changes and the aim assist being toned down

There's practically no aim assist most casuals will probably not stick with this game there not going to be able control the recoil at range.
It wouldn't be so much of a problem if it was controller only but going up against keyboard and mouse is going to be tough I found lowering the sensitivity down to practically nothing was the only way to get range kills consistently.

I would love to see aim assistance removed, and max mouse aim be limited to what the controller aim can use (meaning mouse can only move as fast as the controllers get for view sensitivity).
I'm positive after my 1 million kills in Battlefield titles (console mostly, but a lot in PC BF1), and 100k in Apex Legends on mostly controllers, aim assistance isn't needed in today's games. I can still to this day play Battlefield 1 on PC with aim assistance disabled and not have a bad time.
With the right set of settings to help control a thumbstick in different situations, the need for software to help aim goes away, plus a good thumbstick.
The people making games nowadays are just using the same old marketing from the previous groups just to be simple.

If there was no recoil you wouldn't have to have aim assist without the slowdown means you have to have very low sensitivity so you can do the small adjustments sometimes the adjustments is a little as one or two millimeters.
Mixed input gaming shouldn't be a thing PC shouldn't be in console lobbies simple as that removing aim assist will mean controller players will 100% have to use macros

I agree, the accuracy penalties while sliding/jumping look great. I just want to share my kudos to the developers for this change and staying true to the grounded gameplay BF6 has promised. It is much appreciated!

I don't agree that anyone needs anything in video games. I especially don't agree that anyone deserves and/ or is required to have software to help them while in a video game.
The adjustment you're talking about doesn't go into the details, so I have to guess. Also, most people on controllers have two different aim sensitivity (most not all).
One for when you're looking around (non-ads).
One for when you're (ADS).
It's now more common for video games to offer curves for both ingame. So one could have a linear curve for looking around, but a more refined and subtle concave curve to offer more sensitivity.
So in my honest opinion, aim assistance could be removed, and still controller players would enjoy it. But, there would have to be some kind of aim training system for setup that let you adjust settings while in game so each player could dial it in on the fly.
Also, I would never agree that a controller user is at a disadvantage without aim assistance just because they're facing someone with a mouse & keyboard.
In a first person shooter, I would rather have an analog stick so you could move repeatedly in a direction just by holding a stick at a certain pitch. With Battlefield having so many vehicles, the controller just works better in my opinion.

All they had to do was fix the exploits. I am afraid the updated movement penalty changes will make the game feel (possibly a lot) worse. Based on videos it looks pretty bad, but we will see.

You could make the exact same argument for casual mnk players then. They will leave because they can not control the recoil at range? The recoil is harder to control with a mouse in this game btw.
I don't think that is how it works though. If they enjoy the game they will keep playing it, and they will want to learn and eventually get better. Otherwise the game is just not for them. We can't have overly aggressive aim-assist doing all the work for us. That will ruin the game for everyone else.
Controller already has reduced recoil in BF, which in my opinion is a huge problem and it gives controller players an unfair advantage. Not only because they have reduced recoil, but it makes controller players able to prioritize different weapons and attachments for different situations, as they are not that dependent on reduced recoil from other sources. It will become an even bigger problem in the BR mode, as you more often fight with different weapons without preferred attachments.
The aim-assist in BF6 seems to be very well balanced, but the recoil should be the same for all inputs. - Alethes30 days agoSeasoned Ace
As a console player myself, I'm all for removing all aim assist from all consoles.
But then as a compromise remove (forced) crossplay with PC, too. No chance otherwise, apart from the most extraordinarily gifted two-thumbs players.
