I believe there’s no need to complicate the game mechanics just because someone occasionally behaves unsportsmanlike.
Stealing vehicles has been a thing since Battlefield 1942. Every now and then, there’s always that one teammate waiting to steal your vehicle when you hop out to repair it or even hand it over to the enemy as you mentioned.
