First step in improving hit detection: a ping limit. If you do not enforce similar pings, everything is a smear of time and guesswork. It is mind boggling how they haven't at least tried to first incorporate that important change.
I'm not entirely sure its a ping issue. most games I'm in, ping range is from around 12 to below 100. I typically have a ping of 37. I've been insta killed by players with low and high pings. a ping difference of 20ish shouldn't have that happen, based on ping alone.
my biggest issue is catering to console players and giving them a huge lag advantage. haven't played BF6 on console, I can't say if it goes both ways. I think its more of a little of everything, not just one or two things. I'd bet its a combination of engine capabilities, net code, server tick rate, and player ping. so issues all around lol. I also can't understand how it can get better and worse. its code, it shouldn't degrade over time.
only thing i know for sure, I'm never buying another DICE game. they have been consistent at being bad developers.
