Variable zoom scopes

Opening a discussion on several aspects of this.

First and foremost, are there people who actually use 4 or 5 different levels of zoom on a rifle at any given time ? Wouldn't 2 be enough ? Maybe 3 maximum ?

Second, regardless of whether or not you will change the number of zoom levels per scope, could it be possible to have an indicator informing which level of zoom we currently are ? If you don't want to obscure the scope with a box, fine, but can we have it where the scope zeroing is ?=

Some scopes like the NGFC LPVO are decently clear due to the crosshair scaling, but one like the MARS-F LPVO is unclear. Add to the fact sometimes when you respawn the latest setting is not saved, and for God knows what reason it goes to the 2x zoom and you press the zoom key 4 times, you're back to 1x and have to carefully restart the entire process.

This can also be useful for canted/piggyback sights (they are all 1x anyway, so no difficulty).

Last, are there any chances some flip-up magnifiers to be added for non-magnified or low magnification sights ? Up to 1.75x maybe  ? With a magnification of 2x or 3x (or both options, let's be crazy).

  • I tried the one on the LMG version of the M227 and don't like it.

I think it'd be better to max three steps and the steps to be 2, 4 and 6, and tbh, even 3 steps might be too much. 2x and 4x or 2.5x and 5x would be better.
