Audio Delay/Desync

Lately, my audio has been having major issues. Some things like reloading, vehicles, defibs, voicelines, etc., seem to trigger really late or sometimes not at all, while other things like gunshots and hitmarkers consistently play on time. So far, I have tried verifying files, different output devices, all sorts of Windows and BF 6 audio settings, checked drivers, checked Windows updates, and deleted and redownloaded the game. Redownloading the game seems to be a somewhat unreliable temporary fix, where after redownloading, all audio plays on time without cutting out for a while, and it sounds great. But without fail, it always starts bugging out again eventually. Sometimes after just a few matches, sometimes hours of playtime, but redownloading is the only thing l've found to "reset" it. My PC more than meets the game's recommended specs and doesn't have any issues keeping high framerates without any performance drops at high and ultra settings. The game doesn't seem to be using too much RAM, CPU, or GPU when checking task manager and I have no similar issues on any other games so l'm just at an absolute loss. If anyone else has experienced this or has found a fix, PLEASE let me know.

  • To sum up this whole post with replies, if you are having this same issue it seems to be tied to overheating storage when running BF6 due to the game constantly streaming data between matches and reloading everything every match. I purchased a new almost identical SSD to my old one but with a heatsink as opposed to without in the case of my old SSD and have had no issues since. As far as I’ve seen, the only full proof fix is to make sure your storage is staying properly cooled since BF6 is so intense on it. Otherwise if you don’t have storage with a decent heatsink or can’t quite get one right now, deleting all HD textures in the games dlc tab seems to be a decent workaround.

For me its kinda random, I can't 100% reproduce issue. Yesterday I played for almost 2 hours and everything was more less fine, maybe it was there but less noticeable.

So recently I did a full redownload of the game since I had previously opted not to download redsec and later deleted the campaign as well after I finished it since they were (allegedly) optional downloads. What I found was that after redownloading EVERYTHING and not just MP, my audio worked perfectly for the last 3 or so days so I assumed that might’ve been the issue. But earlier today the issue reappeared and oddly enough this time, NOTHING will work. Where as previously redownloading has been a temporary, albeit unreliable fix, it now does nothing. My audio is now completely screwed with no fix at all that I’ve found through all the methods mentioned previously. I am at my absolute wits end with this bug and have searched high and low on manner of subreddit, forum, twitter post, etc for ANYTHING even resembling a fix or even so much as acknowledgement of the bug to no avail so for now deleting BF6 and praying that EA someday decides to make a functioning game (unlikely) is my only course of action.

All that to say, if you are having this same issue and don’t have absolutely everything downloaded for BF6 (campaign, MP, Redsec, and all additional texture packs etc.) maybe download those and see if it fixes your issue as it’s the closest thing to “fix” that I’ve found so far. Hopefully you’ll have better luck than me.

Yeah, same issue here. My quick investigation found that it could be due to fact game always loading assets from disk, instead keeping them in RAM. So in task manager you can open disk where game installed and see if it constantly reading during game. I've noticed that weapons icon when you select class may slow on load as well when you switch fast after played for while or enemy weapon icon always not instantly appear.

Tried to reinstall nvidia driver (clean install) also make sure shadders folder are clean, so far this didn't help. I had something similar on doom dark ages, where game instead just lag out durring audio delay. Fix there was increase "video cache" or whatever option was called and game was smooth as butter.

For some reason battlefield6 just doesn't like all RAM and VRAM I have and they never fully utilized even when needed, I even have low res textures and low poly LOD models right after new map load every time.

So far I have not found solution.
