I am having this exact same issue. I believe it has something to do with some files that appear to be stuck and not released.

Ditto, MP works fine, SP don't either...
I'm not sure if anyone else is having the same issue as me for this but I noticed that steam has some unreleased files which I wonder if it might be causing this issue perhaps as that appears to have completely gotten stuck for Battlefield 6:
I also had a random error that appeared on my screen once during my attempts to play the campaign that won't start, it just kicked me into another window, and then errored out with an error message, then closed the game like it crashed:

hi had the same issue and found a fix in a steam forum try and turn of vsync

I have the same issue. MP works fine but when selecting campaign it does not switch over, just closes. I got it to work 1 time by using Nvidia app graphics for game and hit optimize. worked for 1 session now i cant get back into it.

Disable antivirus. I use Windows Defender. I also have vsync off.
Now it works for me.
OBV this in not a definitive solution. I would like to have antivirus ON.

Tried to do the same on the EA app side of things and the game will not appear as if i own the game. yes i checked the accounts are linked and linked correctly. this is highly disappointing

I don't even have Windows Defender enabled so that can't be the entire problem.
