BF 6 Redsec Crash at some Locations

Since the Season 2 update, my game crashes consistently at multiple locations on the Redsec map.

My system specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400F
RAM: 32 GB (2×16 GB DDR4)
OS:Windows 11

At many locations (around 30% of the map), every Time im at thes Locations the game crashes with the following error:

DirectX Error:
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands"), GPU: "AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT", Driver: 25.10.2 (25.20.21.01-251013a-420422C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition). This error is usually caused by a crash of the graphics driver. The message suggests installing the latest drivers.

I have already tried multiple driver versions, different boot options, and various in-game settings, but nothing has fixed the issue.

Can anyone help?

    Hello friend!

To Penguin this looks like you lack the sufficient permissions in order to delete the files
    Here is a sidedoor 👉🚪

In the Documents Battlefield6 folder, ensure you have all the permissions checked:

    1:Right click, 2: Properties, 3:Security Tab
Ensure everything is checked as shown in the provided screenshot.
    Full Control
    Modify
    Read & Execute
    List folder contents
    Read
    Write

One secure way to solve this step by step:

1: Close related programs, Battlefield6, Javelin EaAnticheat.(This can be done easily through Taskmanager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESC)
    2:  Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 , look for explorer.exe
3: Right click Explorer.exe, Run As Administrator
4: Now try delete the cache folders through that explorer with Admin priveleges.

Alternatively you can also test if the Cache can be easier deleted through your Adrenaline software.

The above suggestion should be guaranteed, as you will be deleting the Cache files with all necessary permissions and no other processes reading and executing from it. (Once Battlefield 6 and Javelin EaAnticheat is fully closed)

  • Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I tried deleting the files, but unfortunately I couldn’t delete all of them. I deleted everything I could and then tried again, but it didn’t help :). Any tips how to delete all Cache Folders? Thanks in advance. Tomokari

  • Hello friend!

Penguin believes this is very likely related to shader/cache issues after the Season 2, especially since:

1:Crash happens at specific locations only.
    2:Your error shows DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
3:You have already tested different driver versions

This often means the GPU crashes when trying to load certain game assets.

The 3D Cache won't be replaced by changing GPU driver.

To deal with this, Penguin suggest:

If you press Windows + R paste in 👉 ''%localappdata%\AMD\'' and run.

Simply delete all the Cache folders you find at that location and restart the game.
Once the game restarts, it will recreate new cache folders for you! 😀

Hopefully this helps resolve your problem in Redsec friend.

    Many thanks
