BF6 hard freeze since Season 3 - RTX 5070 Ti - Kernel-Power 41

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my situation because I've been dealing with this for a while and I've tried absolutely everything.

My PC completely freezes every single time I play BF6, always between 10 and 20 minutes into a match. The screen goes black, the keyboard and mouse stop responding, the sound cuts out, and the whole system locks up. The PC stays on — fans are spinning — but Windows is completely dead. The only way out is pressing the reset button on the case. No error message, no BSOD, nothing.

The most frustrating part is that this ONLY happens in Battlefield 6. I play Warzone and other heavy games on the same PC with zero issues, for hours, no problem at all.

**My specs:**

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti

- RAM: 48GB DDR5 @ 6000MHz

- Motherboard: MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI

- PSU: Gigabyte 1000W 80 Plus Gold + 1200W UPS

- OS: Windows 11

- NVIDIA Driver: 596.49

- Platform: Steam

- Game version: Season 3 (1.3.1.0)

**Here is everything I have tried — nothing worked:**

- Updated BIOS to latest version (March 20, 2026)

- Disabled XMP/EXPO in BIOS

- Manually set RAM frequency to 6000MHz (was at 6400MHz)

- Enabled X3D Gaming Mode in BIOS

- Disabled PCIe Link State Power Management in Windows

- Reinstalled EA Javelin Anticheat manually using EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe

- Verified game files on Steam

- Closed all overlays (Steam, Discord, GeForce Experience, MSI Center)

- Tried launching with -dx11 — still freezes

- GPU driver is current (596.49 from May 12, 2026)

- Checked temperatures — all normal during gameplay

- PSU is more than enough, power is not the issue

**What I found in Windows Event Viewer:**

Every single time the freeze happens, I get a **Kernel-Power Event ID 41, Category 63**. The BugcheckCode is 0 and all parameters are 0x0 — meaning the system died so suddenly that Windows couldn't even log what happened. No minidump, no crash dump in the BF6 folder either.

I also found **EA Javelin Anticheat Event ID 1000 with ExitType: 95 (271)** — the anticheat is crashing abnormally during gameplay.

I want to be clear: this is not a hardware problem. Everything else runs perfectly. This started after the Season 3 update and I know I'm not the only one — I've seen multiple people with RTX 50 series GPUs reporting the exact same thing since the patch dropped.

Please EA, look into this. The game is completely unplayable right now.

I see the same thing and will give it a try.

Strangely, as of now I have played several games and not had an issue. Also, after going back to the 26.2.2 drivers I can now push sound to my TV where I wasn't able to with the newer drivers for some strange reason.

If that's what I did and it worked, thank you!

Fixed it! Sharing in case it helps someone.

Same issue here — complete freeze every 10-20 min, only in BF6, hard reset required every time. Tried everything: BIOS update, XMP off, RAM at 6000MHz, reinstalled Javelin Anticheat, -dx11, nothing worked.

**The fix:** In Device Manager → Display Adapters, my integrated GPU (AMD Radeon Graphics) had a yellow warning triangle (Code 31 — driver couldn't load). I right-clicked it, uninstalled the device including the driver, restarted, and Windows reinstalled it automatically. Both GPUs now show clean with no warnings.

Played several full matches after that with zero freezes.

    Hope this helps!

  • I've been having the same issue since the last update.

I have a single computer with two NVMEs

    Its a 7800x3d with 9070xt

One boots to Win10 and the other is Win11 with only the EA app and BF6

Both will randomly crash. The WIn10 build would freeze and need a hard reset but WIn11 would just crash to desktop without any error popups. Ive tried 26.3.1, 26.5.1 and 26.5.2 all the same result of random crashes.

I'm currently using the 26.2 on my Win10 build because even when ti crashes it doesn't hard freeze.

Neither build showed anything in Event Viewer except an unexpected shutdown in Win10 when it needed to be hard reset.

I noticed on my WIn10 build, in the BF6 folder I have 3 new files for crash dumps all starting from the latest EA update.

I don't know how to read the technical data in mdmp files though.

  • I've had 3 reboots since yesterday. I've been going crazy with my PC for 24 hours, cleaning it up and finding errors and drivers. I was using AMD 26.5.2 when the reboots occurred.

It's impossible that so many people are crashing at once! Do you realize what's happening?

I'm terrified to launch the BF6 app. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I experienced the behaviour you have described with Bf6 on my PC. My 5070ti is both UV and UC and none of my other games exhibited any similar issues. I was forced to bring the voltage up a little to find stability. It's running good now with the Power limit slider maxed, Voltage at 895mv, Core 2857mhz core and Memory at 2000mhz.

*Max all runs good, it hovers at around 3215mhz but it get's a little warmer and the fans are little too noisy for my liking for extended play.

  • I finally solved it using the posted workaround: enable the onboard GPU in the BIOS if it's not already. In my case, it was enabled in the BIOS, but disabled in Windows. I simply re-enabled it in device manager and since then,  no more lock ups during gameplay.

  • Wish I had a solution for you, but I'm having the same issue. It started a few days ago and all hardware tests pass and I can play other games without any issues. I'll post here if I get a fix.
