Black screen after quitting to main menu

platform: PC (laptop) i9 13900hx 4060 32G

issue: Immediately turned to silence and completely black screen when quitting to main menu. No response to  keyboard or mouse.

when: since Winter Offensive update

Attempts:  tried to reinstall the game, update and rollback drivers. All attempts failed.
