Constant disconnections: Error 1:85009S despite good connection
Hi all,
I spent much of yesterday trying to bugfix BF6 - managed to sort out it crashes due to insufficient VRAM but one problem persists - I can't get through a single game without being booted due to an 'Unknown Error' with the above error code. I completed like 1 full match so far.
Things I have done:
- Port forwarding
- Bought a new high-gain wifi USB adapter
- Disabled my VPN - initially by split tunnelling but then just entirely turning it off
- Ensured access for BF6 through Windows Firewall
- Verifying game files
- Flushing DNS
- Updating video card drivers
- Installed a wifi repeater to maximise signal since wired isn't practical for me and switched from 5ghz to 2.4ghz to prioritise stability over download speed
The above has given me a ping in normal games of around 25 and jitter / packet loss according to online tests which are very low. My internet down the line is normally 1gbps but what reaches my PC over wifi is usually at least 100mbps.
Despite this - when in games I notice a very slight rubber banding effect (not enough to stop me enjoying myself) but the main issue is sudden disconnections. Once it has happened once, it feels like it happens more often, sometimes while loading into a game.
I'm at my wits end and I hear I am not the only one with this issue. Does anyone have anything I haven't already tried or is this a case of waiting until EA sort the issue?
Many thanks :)
