Crash to Desktop w/ No Error

Since the previous update 1.1.1.5 I have not been able to play a full match without the game crashing. I have tried a number of things to fix the issue. I own the game on Steam but I'll include my EA ID as well. I would have attempted to update my BIOS but it is already up-to-date. Below are the fixes I have attempted. I did some stuff to fix the "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED or DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" error as well because it happened a few times when attempting to fix the no error crashes to desktop.
Fixes attempted:
-Uninstall BF6(restart PC)/Reinstall BF6(after restart)
-Roll-back NVIDIA Drivers/Reinstall latest drivers
-Disable XMP/Edit MT/s
-Lower graphic settings
-Update and repair Windows
-Run Dxdiag to find issues with DX12 (No problems were found)
-Install DX12 drivers again from Windows (Just in case)

Additional Information:

EA ID / Steam ID: Ollie-Senpai / Ollie
OS Version: 26100.7171
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB
GPU Driver: 581.80
Date/Time the issue occurred: 11/13/25 - Current
Brief summary of your bug: Game runs fine and then will randomly freeze for a brief second and then crash to desktop with no error.
Type of issue: Crash
Mode where it occurred & Map: RedSec & MP on Escalation, Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough on all Maps.
Any other errors: "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED or DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" was also present but has not been a consistent error since rolling back and reinstalling NVIDIA drivers.

Google Drive Link to CrashDump

If there is anymore information I can provide please let me know and I will attempt to get it ASAP. There shouldn't be any issues with the Google Drive link but if there is I'll fix it right away. Thank you for any assistance!

  • Have the same issue. My game closes itself as soon as I join a game.

Looking at your file, it looks like you’re missing some motherboard drivers, and that can cause instability under CPU/GPU load. The current NVIDIA 581.xx driver is also unstable.

You’ve got stuff missing on MB like
    PCI Device    Driver: n/a
    SM Bus Controller     Driver: n/a
    RAID Controller    Driver: n/a
PCI standard CPU bridge    Driver: n/a

Might be worth trying to fix the MB drivers first.

Then do a full clean NVIDIA driver install with DDU:

    Boot into Safe Mode
Run DDU and remove NVIDIA drivers
    Reboot
    Install 552.44 or 557.74 instead of 581.

Also undo any OC, turn off XMP/EXPO temporarily and disable all overlays.

    After that, check system stability
    Windows Memory Diagnostic
    OCCT GPU VRAM test
HWiNFO while gaming to watch temps/power spikes

Hopefully you get it sorted any crashes are frustrating

  • Ollie-Senpai how long have you owned the i9-14900KF CPU and how long was it before you updated the BIOS?

Intel extended the warranty on this processor to 5 years due to instability issues due to high voltage damaging the processor.

    https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/intel-releases-extended-warranty-details-for-13th-and-14th-gen-chips-list-includes-core-i5-i7-and-i9-processors

I don't know if this is causing your crashing issue or not, but keep it in mind.

Whatever it is, I'm sure the problem is completely on your end, and the same with everyone else having the exact same issue.
It couldn't possibly be that they messed something up in the update (again), because that only happens with every update, and it never happened before the update.
So yeah. Definitely a problem on your end.

I haven't had it all that long. I built this PC back in August and have had almost no issues until recently. I am currently on the most recent BIOS update for my MOBO since I updated it when I built the computer and they haven't released a new update since May. I'll keep an eye on my CPUs performance just in case but I haven't noticed anything unusual numbers wise with it yet. If I notice any weird numbers I'll look into using the warranty. Appreciate the help!

I appreciate you pointing out the MOBO drivers cause I completely glossed over those when I was updating things the other day. I have now updated all of them and went and downloaded the drivers I was missing. I updated my XMP and two of my four sticks wouldn't mem train so I removed those and then ran WMD on the remaining two which were fine until the last few percent of the test. It's a bad time to need to replace RAM so hopefully I can get it to work without replacing them if not I guess my credit card is gonna get some use tomorrow. I appreciate your help! Fingers crossed I can save myself $500-ish it'd be to get replacement RAM.

Ollie-Senpai if you just built the PC and updated the BIOS then the CPU should be OK. I would check for new BIOS updates every few months.

I'm planning to check again in a few months, assuming they'll release a new update around every 6 months, give or take.

Ollie-Senpai if the crashing doesn't stop let us know. There's at least two things to try. Such as running HCI MemTest and uninstalling BF6, EA anticheat, and EA app.
