EA_Aljo
Hi Aljo,
Thank you again for your previous reply and for taking the time to provide such a detailed troubleshooting list.
I followed your recommendations exactly and wanted to report the results in chronological order.
Hardware configuration
Before describing the tests, I would like to clarify one important point regarding my system configuration.
Every component in my PC is running completely at stock settings.
I have never overclocked, undervolted, or manually tuned any component, either now or in the past.
This includes:
CPU
GPU
RAM
Motherboard
Everything is running exactly as it came from the manufacturer.
No manual overclock, undervolt, Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), Curve Optimizer, EXPO/XMP tuning, GPU overclock, or custom voltage settings have ever been applied.
The BIOS also remains at its default stock configuration.
Additionally, this is the only game that has ever produced this behavior on my PC.
The system is otherwise stable during normal desktop use and while playing every other game I own.
Test environment
Windows 10 Pro
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Radeon RX 7800 XT
AMD Adrenalin driver 26.6.4
Battlefield 6 launched through the EA App
Clean reinstall procedure
Following your instructions, I performed a completely clean reinstall of Battlefield 6.
The steps were:
Uninstalled Battlefield 6 using the EA App.
Deleted the remaining Battlefield 6 installation folder.
Deleted the Battlefield 6 folder from Documents.
Deleted the Battlefield folder from AppData.
Deleted the Battlefield 6 folder inside ProgramData\Frostbite.
Deleted the Battlefield 6 installation data stored under EA Desktop.
Cleared the EA App cache using App Recovery.
Rebooted the PC.
Reinstalled Battlefield 6 through the EA App.
Additional troubleshooting
Following your recommendations, I also:
Disconnected my USB headset before testing.
Kept every other hardware component unchanged.
Left the BIOS completely at stock settings.
Made no hardware or software tuning changes during this test.
First launch
The first launch completed successfully.
Instead of recompiling shaders, the game only displayed a very brief "Verifying" message that lasted less than one second before reaching the main menu.
I then closed the game.
Second launch
I launched the game a second time.
The behavior was identical.
Again, shader verification lasted less than one second and the game reached the main menu normally.
No shader recompilation occurred.
Gameplay test
I then started a solo bot match.
I timed the session from the moment I pressed Start Match.
The system hard-froze after approximately 2 minutes and 32 seconds.
Freeze behavior
The symptoms were exactly as follows:
The entire screen suddenly turned black.
The monitor immediately lost video signal.
Windows played the USB device disconnect sound.
The entire system became completely unresponsive.
I had to perform a manual reboot.
No Blue Screen of Death appeared.
After reboot
Immediately after Windows started again, AMD Software displayed the following message:
"AMD Software requires a compatible driver."
However, Device Manager still showed:
AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
Driver version 32.0.31021.5001
The driver still appeared to be installed correctly.
Windows Event Viewer
After rebooting, I reviewed Windows Event Viewer.
The relevant entries were:
Kernel-Power (Event ID 41)
EventLog (Event ID 6008)
The Kernel-Power event reported:
BugcheckCode = 0
No BSOD occurred.
Minidumps
I also checked:
C:\Windows\Minidump
No new dump file was generated after the freeze.
Windows Error Reporting
Windows did record an APPCRASH after the reboot.
The crashed process was:
atieclxx.exe
Driver version:
32.0.31021.5001
Exception code:
0xc0000005
This APPCRASH occurred after restarting Windows following the hard freeze.
Result
Unfortunately, following every troubleshooting step exactly as recommended did not resolve the issue.
The hard freeze still occurs exactly as before.
Since I have now completed all of the troubleshooting steps you requested and carefully documented the results, I would really appreciate it if this information could be reviewed, as the issue persists despite following the recommended procedure exactly.
Thank you again for your time and assistance. Best regards!
