EA Javelin stuck on “Launching Game” August 26
Battlefield 6 was working normally yesterday, August 25. Starting today, August 26, the game will no longer launch through Steam.
Steam starts EA Javelin normally, but the splash screen remains stuck indefinitely on **“LAUNCHING GAME.”** Looking in Task Manager shows that `bf6.exe` is being created but remains in a **Suspended** state. The command line for the process includes `-enableJavelinSuspendedProcess`, so it appears Javelin is starting the game process but never completing the launch.
I have already tried:
* Verified game files through Steam
* Deleted/reset Battlefield 6 settings
* Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Battlefield 6
* Repaired EA Javelin AntiCheat
* Completely uninstalled/reinstalled Javelin
* Confirmed the EA AntiCheat service starts and runs
* Clean boot with non-Microsoft services disabled
* Tested with Anti-Virus protections disabled
* Updated NVIDIA drivers
* Checked Event Viewer and Code Integrity logs
* Tested BF6/Javelin with administrator privileges
The behavior remains exactly the same.
There is no normal BF6 application crash or crash dump being generated. Javelin simply remains on **“LAUNCHING GAME”** while `bf6.exe` stays suspended.
Since the game worked normally yesterday and this began suddenly today, August 26, I'm wondering if there has been a Javelin update/change causing the launch process to hang. I'm also seeing other reports of this same issue beginning today.
After trying everything listed above and more with no success, I cleared my Steam Download Cache (Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache) I saw a quick Anti Cheat install and Battlefield 6 launched normally.
I can't confirm whether clearing the cache fixed it or whether there was a Javelin-side change around the same time, but this was the first successful launch since the issue began. I'll update again after testing multiple launches.
