Game Loads To a Black Screen After Launching

Hi, sorry to hear you’re running into this.

Based on troubleshooting steps previously shared by the community, you can try the following:

1. Disable DRS (Dynamic Resolution Scaling)

Go to:

Documents\Battlefield 6\settings\steam\PROFSAVE_profile

Find "GstRender.DRSEnabled" and change its value to 0, then save the file and restart the game.

2. Run the game/program as administrator

If the service still will not start, please make sure the required permissions are set correctly and that you clicked "Yes" when the Windows UAC prompt appeared.

3. Check your antivirus software

Please make sure you have added the anti-cheat related files to your antivirus whitelist:

• EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe in the game directory
• the anti-cheat service located in C:\Program Files\EA\AC

If that is difficult to set up, you can also try temporarily disabling your antivirus before launching the game to see whether that resolves the issue.

4. Adjust Windows Exploit Protection settings

• Open Windows Security → App & browser control → Exploit protection → Program settings → Add program to customize
• Find and select bf6.exe
• Return to the Exploit Protection settings for bf6.exe and click Edit
• If any settings are turned On, especially Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR), choose Override system settings and switch it Off
• Click Apply to save the changes

5. Repair or reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables

If none of the steps above help, including performing a clean boot, please share the following so we can take a closer look:

• Event Viewer logs
• DxDiag

Hi, may I ask if performing a clean boot also didn’t help? Please provide your Event Viewer logs / a DxDiag report so I can give more targeted suggestions.

Sometimes after quiting a match, the screen goes black and i have to exit the game, quit and restart.

And then sometimes i quit a match and everything looks good. But then i start a new match and only the hud is showing, rest of the screen is black and i have to quit game and restart again. 

Very annoying.

Yea, I've seen that 4-5 times since S3 update, didn't happen before.

This has happened to me about 5 or 6 times so far since the last update, I know it has done the same thing to a couple of my friends as well. 

When trying to exit a game before the game ends, I am faced with a black screen, the game will not fully exit the game I am currently in. I have to control alt delete to close the game and then open it back up. I do not get any errors, it is the game just froze during the exit. 

I do not have this issue when the game ends and I exit during the awards screen.  

I've been having this problem too. I have to ALT-F4 and restart the game.

It looks like these black screen issues may be happening during match exit or when transitioning into the next game, rather than during initial launch. We’ll make sure that’s noted.

• When leaving a match early
• After the round fully ends
• While loading into the next match
• Whether restarting the game is the only workaround for you

This issues was fixed before, and now returned since Season 3 release
