Get Banned Cause Enable 'Steam Overlay'?!!!

Hello, I am a pre-purchased user of Battlefield 6 on the Steam platform. Here's the situation: After yesterday's Battlefield 6 update, the game immediately crashed upon launch due to an outdated anti-cheat version. After finding a solution, I downloaded the anti-cheat update program from EA's official website and manually updated the anti-cheat software. After updating, I successfully entered the game. However, at the Battlefield 6 launch screen, I was prompted that I must enable the Steam Overlay to continue playing. After exiting the game and re-enabling the Steam Overlay, I was shocked to find my account banned upon restarting the game. I am both stunned and furious—I have never violated the user agreement. I merely enabled the Steam Overlay as prompted by the game, yet you have banned my account for this? Throughout my previous 30 hours of gameplay, I committed no offenses and engaged in absolutely no cheating. I hereby strongly protest Battlefield 6's reckless and irresponsible mistaken ban and demand the immediate reinstatement of my account! I enabled the Steam Overlay feature at your prompting, having no prior knowledge of its purpose and never having used it before!

WHAT THE HACK IS THIS???SOME ONE GOT THE SAME ISSUES?

  • This is utterly ridiculous. When you contact customer service, they merely instruct you to fill out a form, claiming that once completed, you'll find an option to “email us”. Yet the form is complete nonsense – after submitting it, there's no such email option at all, just a bunch of self-help articles. My patience is wearing thin. How on earth has this bloody company managed to survive this long? Their customer service is nothing but a slapdash affair.

    Therefore, I am unable to initiate an appeal. Your online customer service seems unable to comprehend what I am saying, merely instructing me repeatedly to fill out an appeal form. I do not even possess a record of the penalty—how am I supposed to appeal?

     (2025/10/30 10:32:38): However, my penalty history is blank, indicating no formal ban has been imposed by your organisation. Yet when attempting to play Battlefield 6 via Steam, the system still displays the account as disabled.
    This is clearly a system error on your part, not the result of cheating – I have never engaged in any form of cheating. I merely performed updates, logged in, and enabled the Steam overlay feature, only to be banned immediately.

    3. On the solutions page, the select “Email us” under the Contact an Advisor section.
    4. This ensures the appeal case is routed directly to the TOS queue for review.

    Update: unbanned after 3 days

    My ban's been reversed after 3 days from my initial appeal, either i just got luckier than the people who've been waiting 2+ weeks or they’ve caught on to the false ban issue.

    Either way, still no official response from EA, and no reason for the ban was provided. I’m guessing it was due to my mouse software razer synapse (that and logitech ghub are things a lot of people reporting false bans are using).

    I’ve seen people saying they were rebanned immediately so I’ll bind my mouse side buttons in game rather than through synapse,  and keep synapse closed as a precaution. Sucks that we have to play a guessing game with no statement from EA addressing what programs are falsely flagging the anticheat.
