Can't play battlefield with friends on the same network | EA Forums - 6989392
Just found this thread which had no solution, but was answered by EA_Leeuw :
Hey @Coldpawn,
This is most likely because all of you are in one place, which means that all of you are using one ( 1 ) actual network address (IP address) to connect to the game servers.
I am not sure if there is a fix for this, also mainly because of Battlefield 2042 being a cross-play/cross-progression etc. game I think so many people connecting from one ( 1 ) actual network address is asking for trouble, so to say.
So it seems there is no solution right now. Maybe the devs will fix it, but they didn't in the last title and I haven't seen any official acknowledgement that it's an issue with this game so far so...

Meatlumps I wonder if BF6 is compatible with IPv6. That would solve the shared IP address issue because there's usually no IP address sharing with IPv6. Every device gets it's own public IP address.

Meatlumps EA_Leeuw I can 100% confirm it has zero to do with people playing on the same network. I never play with anyone else on my network, always with friends who are not with me, and this happens very consistently, either every match of every. Not sure I have ever played 3 matches in row, in a squad OR solo

cburnzy32 That's a separate issue with the matchmaking. There is 100% a problem with shared network connections. It probably has to do with both people trying to connect from the same public IP address. My roommate and I have been able to play together when one of us uses a VPN. Battlefield has always had problems with people trying to play on the same server with the same internet connection, but they haven't had many games that rely this hard on matchmaking.
