Matchmaking send back to Menu

Ive just got off online chat with EA and they said "Actually, there is some technical difficulties going on server and many other players are facing the same issue. I suggest you to please wait for sometime as this issue is under investigation and I hope this issue will be resolved soon." "Thankfully, our teams have noticed this issue and they're working diligently to fix it as soon as possible. It might take some time until things are completely fixed, so I appreciate your patience as we work through this.

Asked what the issue was but was given no response to my question. I'm playing on PC, it attempts to launch but then kicks me back to menu screen. I'm able to join using a VPN but 9 times outa 100 get kicked so far through the game, an error 'player inactive for too long'.
