New update just broke the Exclusive Fullscreen mode

The point is that the game now automatically switches from the actual exclusive fullscreen mode to borderless. This breaks the DLDSR I use when upscaling the game's resolution from 1080p to 1440p. I'm sure I'm not the only one using DLDSR, especially considering many players started having issues with resolution settings after this update.

The screenshot shows mode 1 in the fullscreen settings, which corresponds to the borderless setting. When this value is set to 0, the game switches it to 1 upon launch, and even Read-only doesn't help, as the file is literally recreated right before my eyes.

For players like me who use NVIDIA's DLDSR (I don't know about ADM VSR): you should set the DLDSR resolution on your desktop, launch the game, and select that resolution. This will eliminate stuttering issues and ensure the resolution is read correctly.

It doesn't work. Firstly, I'll repeat that the game forcibly changes configuration files right during launch. Secondly, I have an RTX 3060, so DX12 support is present. However, as I mentioned in the title, the problem arose after an update. This is an issue with the game and the developers. Everything works perfectly fine in other games.

  • I guess you could try to use the console or edit the profile and / or launcher shortcut to force it to use DX11, though that's suboptimal, unless your GPU doesn't support the DX12 Hardware API Level.

1.) DirectX 11: Fullscreen Exclusive (2.) DirectX 12: Borderless Fullscreen / Windowed, Fullscreen
