PC completely shuts down with no warning when playing Battlefield 6

Hello everyone,

I'm facing a critical issue with Battlefield 6 that makes it unplayable. My PC will suddenly and completely shut down with no warning or error message after playing multiplayer for about 5-10 minutes.

This is what I have already tried to fix it:

  • Updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest version.
  • Enabled/disabled Intel VT-x in the BIOS.
  • Adjusted Windows Power Plan settings to High Performance or Balance.

I tried most of the other common solutions found online.

I also wanted to try using Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) to see if undervolting my CPU would help, but all the core CPU options in XTU are greyed out and I can't make any changes.

At this point, I've run out of ideas and can't play the game until this is resolved. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

  • Today has officially been the worst. I spent hours trying to solve a critical issue with Battlefield 6 that makes it completely unplayable. My plan to unwind after a long week was ruined because my PC will suddenly and completely shut down with no warning after just 5-10 minutes of multiplayer.

I tried everything I could think of: I updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest version, toggled Intel VT-x, and switched Windows Power Plan settings between High Performance and Balance. The most frustrating part was when I tried to use Intel XTU to undervolt the CPU as a last resort, only to find all the core options were greyed out.

After exhausting every common solution I could find online, I've completely run out of ideas. All that effort was for nothing, and the only thing I accomplished was writing a formal letter to ask for a refund. It's not just about the money. it’s the complete disrespect for the player's time.

  • Happened to me over the last 2 weeks, turn out that i need it Electrical insulator because my case Short circuit

  • After numerous tests and checking my power supply and components, simply disabling virtualization in the BIOS solved the problem.
Here are the options to disable depending on your configuration:
AMD: SVM – Secure Virtual Machine (AMD)
Intel: VT-x – Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel)

  • I ran into the same problem, I changed my power supply and it fixed the issue

I have the exact same problem. Happened three times today. Randomly reboots my computer mid game. I deeply regret buying this game.

  • Redsec killed my 1000€+ motherboard and 400€+ SSD....

PC build WAS solid and stable, no problems for almost 2 years of running this configuration.
CPU/GPU are watercooled, running external 560rad and internal 480rad in Fractal 7XL, and trust me, I have never seen any temperatures for CPU/GPU above 65C... EVER! I was running FanSpeed software with an extra thermal sensor for the water temperature. All custom curves for every fan group and pump. Water from the GPU went on the external rad and then returned directly to the CPU and then to the internal rad that was mounted on the top of the case, which was the out blowing configuration and the front and the back fans stack were the intake. Motherboard had constant "fresh air" with the outtake directly above (temperatures of the CPU and MoBo controlled the speed of this outtake).
So it's not the "heat" that killed my SSD and motherboard out of nowhere, just after the first few games of RedSec...

The problem started only after trying the Redsec; no problems in beta.
First, it was only a few BSOD, but I thought it was the last MS Win10 update....  well, it was not.

Firstly, my Firecuda started failing and disappearing in the explorer (Crystal Mark still showed the health above 90%), and than suddenly it has desaperd or it could be seen only for a few moments in exploerer when i have booted up PC, but if i tried to opened it or run anything from that SSD, the whole PC crashed and restated (BSOD). I must be a bad SSD, I said to myself, and chuck in a new one as I'm running for the primary one (OS). It has worked for a few games (not Redsec but AssettoCorsa) and then BSOD again. Then PC didn't even want to boot into the OS. I have removed RAM sticks and used only one stick. It has worked, I put the second one in and it's not responsive again.... I have also updated MoBo BIOS just to be sure...

I have tested the RAM in the other PC and it is working fine, I have also tested the Firecuda in the external m.2 reader and it is dead as a Dodo. All the other SSDs that I haven't installed the Redsec on are fine....
Today I wanted to the the final test and reinstall the OS from scratch, but the MoBo doesn't see any SSD in ANY m.2 port, but I can see them on other PC and Macs if I use an external reader. (except the Firecuda one that is DEAD DEAD).

I have ordered new RAM and tested with the new kit just to be sure, and it's not the RAM...

  • Same exact thing happens to me , my pc shuts down out of no where , last night I gamed for 3 hours , and I had no problem , then I run battle field 6 and it shuts down , my temps are good , I have a 1200w power supply , my FPS is stable, I’m up to date with all my drivers , the game is literally unplayable, I tried it on steam and on the Xbox app , same **bleep**.

  • we all have the same problem. Also hitregistration varies between rounds.

Been having this same issue for the past week or so. My pc just shuts down! No warning, no error in the logs, just shuts completely down! It has happened before, about 3-4 weeks ago. Just thought it was my pc issue, until i searched the BF6 forums!

I've been following all the threads about it, hoping someone would suggest something than me having to spend £200 on a new psu! Haven't seen anything as yet! Feel free to suggest something that hasn't been mentioned on this post or other threads like it, unless you know it 100% solves the issue?!

This time round I recorded my task manager memory usage. This screenshot is taken from the second before the system turned itself off. I'm pretty sure there's no issue on that? Nothing pops out.

On the chance that someone suggests the basics. My pc is 100% up to date. It has more than enough capability to run BF6. No other issues on any other games, literally nothing. Ran all the tests you can think of, psu, ram, gpu, cpu etc.

    Tl:dr - Stuff in bold

Hi, I appreciate you offering to help but to save us both a lot of time, it's not my pc that's the issue.

It's the game that's the problem and I'm just looking to see if anyone has a solution.
Seeing as this post is nearly 1 month since the last reply, I'm hoping someone found a fix.
