I managed to fix this issue by completely reinstalling Windows. Some may say that is overkill, but it was quicker than wasting more time debugging 😅
I have HWiNFO, system temps are fine, pc is in a LIAN LI DK07, all very low, CPU freq is within normal range too for all cores/threads @ around 5500MHz.
I did keep Latencymon running while I played for 30 minutes just now, when the freeze/hang happened, it reported wdf01000.sys as the highest interrupt and DPC routine execution time. Everything was perfectly fine and low before the random freeze.
