(SOLVED) Update 1.2.3.5: Computer freezing, Display adapter Device Disabled
After the latest update, when I start BF6, it always starts by verifying shaders, then when I get into a game, about 1 minute in the whole screen freezes (sound still plays for a couple minutes). I have to hold the power button and force reset the computer. When I start it back up, only 1 of 2 monitors dslisplays, and in Device Manager > Display adapters, my RX 9070XT is disabled, and I have to update the driver to get the 2nd monitor back.
This crash only happens with EA/Battlefield games. BF6 and BF1 both had this happen, but Helldivers 2, Farming Simulator 22, and Read Dead Redemption 2 did not crash like this.
I have had instances of DirectX errors that have crashed BF6 back to the desktop, but never this happening.
Things I have tried so far:
- Clearing shader caches
- Reinstalling AMD drivers
- Installing older drivers
- Verifying integrity of game files
- Reinstalling BF6
- Limiting GPU power
- Disabling PBO in BIOS
- Checking connections on PSU and GPU
I am at a loss for what direction to/try go next. See attachments for photos/video.
SOLVED!
Issue was being caused by latest AMD Drivers for 9070XT cards, version 26.5.1. I installed the previous Drivers, version 26.3.1, and I had zero issues, hiccups, freezes, or hangs afterward.
