I have the same problem on Xbox since 2025-11-05 patch (the one lowered assignment challenge requirement): After pressing "start search" soldier stands up, screen turns black, and the game just return to main menu (no error message or anything).
I suggest you to go to Steam Store and at least write negative review with explaining all the issues. I wrote 1 star review in Xbox Store, this is the minimum i can do.
