Add another to the list. I've tried all the solutions, short of a complete reinstall of Windows, which I refuse to do. My system runs smooth as butter otherwise.
It's just garbage coding in the EA anti-cheat. Dollars to donuts there is a memory leak at the kernel level which will result in these kinds of issues. Seen it before. Use the wrong type for a variable and boom, memory corruption, undefined behavior, security vulnerabilities, system crashes, performance degradation, etc.
It's way too prevalent for me to accept that reinstalling Windows is the solution. It's egregious for them to even suggest that as a solution given the sheer volume of complaints.
EA just needs to get their **bleep** together, and the sooner the better.
Having a sale on a game that crashes and jeopardizes peoples systems is a great way to tank their reputation. Well done EA. Well done indeed. Please find some competent developers or just abandon the anti-cheat altogether.

Since these games are fairly outdated, should I expect an update to resolve the issue, or is it something that might never get fixed?
