How to start a new character in Steam version of BF4 instead of EA account?

I recently purchased Battlefield 4 on Steam about 1-2 weeks ago. However, I have been playing Battlefield 4 on my EA account for the past 7-8 years. When I launch the game via Steam, it automatically logs into the character associated with my old EA account. I would like it to log into a new character specific to my Steam account instead. How can I achieve this?
