I got banned when I wasn't even in the game. WTF

I played a little yesterday morning (September 7th), then logged out. When I logged back in that evening, I saw I'd been banned, and they didn't even explain the reason, just sent me a bunch of text ...

    Guys, the solution to the broken anti-cheat problem is actually simple: don't play EA games. You file an appeal, and they just send back a canned automated response claiming you're a cheater—and that's it. I am NOT A **bleep** CHEATER; do you really think I’d waste my time here for a couple of dollars? I’m absolutely furious about how I’ve been treated, and I want justice! What an idiotic company.

    Update:

    I submitted a second and third appeal; in short, I was told, "We know what happened, but we won't tell you—it's a secret." I’ve read all the rules and haven't violated a single one. The only remaining possibility is that there’s something on my PC that triggered the ban—though my antivirus isn't flagging anything. What to do next? Well, obviously, just enjoy life and never have anything to do with EA and their anti-cheat again. xD

Sorry to hear that the response to your appeal wasn't what you were hoping for. As long as the team doesn't respond with a message stating they consider the decision final, you'll still have an opportunity to appeal. 

Unfortunately, we aren't able to support or escalate appeals here on the forums, as we lack the necessary tools and records. Account actions aren't always applied in real time, and there can be a bit of a delay between detection and implementation. If you disagree with the action placed on your account, please continue following these steps to create an appeal. From there, a different member of our Terms of Service team will manually review your appeal and take another look.

Once you create the appeal, feel free to keep an eye on your case history page, and the ToS team will reach out via email. Thanks!
