how did i lose please help

i was play CFB RTG and i have the ball down by 3 with 12ish seconds so i kick my field goal i go on happy its going into OT, i put a perfect kick my opponent picks it up on the 5 yard line. then he takes a knee ready for over time for it only to say i lost. i was so confused do you lose if you tie now is it a glitch please i deserve the win.(i have photo proof to).
