Double Team or Coverage Help has issues/Pursuit Angles
Poor leverage logic is too apparent in this came. Too much bumping occurs that simply shouldn’t be. On defense, players are late adjusting to the passing off of receivers and friendly fire also occurs.
Friendly fire is when while on defense, another defender helps on a covered receiver and disrupts the movement of the initial defender in coverage. This is a sign of poor awareness logic. Helps defense should not interfere with the coverage but improve it, but instead that are countless examples of deep safeties bumping into cornerbacks, or a 3rec zoning right into a defender chasing a receiver across the field.
Ex. Any manned up or matched receiver running across the field with a hook or 3rec playing center field.
Or
A late double team from a defender looking to help on a receiver.
Defensive players should have field awareness of the play, offensive players, and their teammates.
To mitigate: The hook or 3rec should take the proper leverage to help in the crosser but should have awareness in their zone drop to bump into their teammate.
Pursuit angles need to be adjusted so that this issue is mitigated.
