Expanding the Option Playbook
When I say “expanding the option playbook” I don’t mean we need new formations in it to run different plays. What I want to see is new packages out of Wishbone and new plays and specifically Wishbone. I want to see power, toss, trap, counter, dive, etc. In the old NCAA games we had a wide package with two WRs and a normal package with one WR and a TE. The offense dominated the old game and most people ran tight and don’t get me wrong tight is great, but I want to see more than 10 plays in the whole formation. I’d like to see the Wishbone expanded on and maybe even the Split-T also expanded on. Would anyone else also have interest in more of an old school approach in the game instead of the high flying/gun slinger approach like most players?
