Make defense great again!!
I’m sure it will be the typical “git gud” trolls when I post this, but that’s definitely not my issue. My problem with this years game is defense and Why did EA dumb down the defensive AI just to appease those slow ones out there who can’t comprehend that they’re making poor passes, resulting in interceptions? I’ve watched my defense in clips and during the game, they move around like a high school JV second string team. They don’t follow assignments, get stuck in animations, allowing wide receivers to blast wide open. Multiple guys zone dropping to the same areas when they have different assignments, leaving people open when they’re in their designated areas, and lacking any area awareness whatsoever.
completely understand the no-pick if you’re not eyeing the ball; have no beef with that at all. But why not retain that same aggressive ball play from 25 with this added feature? At least make them consistently play their assignments. I understand it won’t be perfect; blown assignments happen in real life, but at the same time, players don’t just stand around and guard nothing. They actively cover someone. And on top of that, they don’t even sprint it’s been plenty of times when I switched to a player and suddenly started sprinting.,That’s another issue as to how routes magically get open so easily. I don’t understand it; it’s like EA made a super overcorrection for the idiots who couldn’t comprehend that they’re 9/10 making terrible pass decisions in 25, and the response was to make the defense dumber? I don’t get it, especially after all the hype about how they improved the logic for 26, which they completely lied about in my opinion.
Then every WR and TE are almost impossible to press even with high 90 press stats. They automatically get open almost every single time you press them and don’t let them have the takeoff ability. It gets even worse. Not as bad as last year, but the problem is that the stuff works in complete opposition to the description says.
just pray that EA actually does us some justice in 27 for defense, which pains me to say because that’s their excuse for not fixing the game: “They’ll add it next year.” That shouldn’t be a thing. Would be nice to actually get year-round support for these games.
