Missing Dll Files

Ok, so, here's the deal,

About 6 months ago, I purchased C&C The First Decade  and after a whole lot of trouble got all the games to work except Tiberian Sun becasue of this missing Dll files problem.  I then realized that the games were in fact not reconfigured for the latest versions of windows, so I didn't really feel too, too bad about it.  About a week ago, I found the C&C The Ultimate Collection and saw read that the games in the package had infact been remconfigured for windows 7, so being the C&C fan I am, I decided to buy it.  Thing is, it seems like I'm still having the same **bleep** problems I was having with Tiberian Sun that came with TFD (you know, the one about the missing DLL Files).  So here I am, frustrated as hell and wondering why my tiberian sun still isn't working. I've tried just about everything with no succes.  I have tried re-installing the game, as well as running all of the application files in the tiberian sun folder as admin, and since the game that I bought came with no CD, but just a code to go download it off of origin, "uninstall the entire game and run Windows Explorer then browse to your DVD drive, right click on Setup.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility > Tick "Run This Program as an Administrator".

And install th game again".  And please do not suggest runnning origin in admin mode and then install the game, because I have already tried that.

That's usually not a good idea as the DLLs are there, it's something else that's the issue. Usually it's the admin problem but as you have tried that already I have no idea how to fix it.

Could someone plz just run me through how to install The Ultimate Collection so that everything works...I am running on a 64 bit system as admin and through origin.

    Thanks

  • And the error gives you no information about which dll-file is missing? And does turning of your firewall and anti-virus not resolve the problem?

Could you please try the following things:

Note: Vista/7 Users should install the game in Admin mode, to do this run Windows Explorer then browse to your DVD drive,
right click on Setup.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility > Tick "Run This Program as an Administrator". Also please install DrectX 9c for Windows Vista (32bit & 64bit)/Windows 7 (32bit) from the following link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

For Windows 7 64bit download & install the DirectX SDK from March 2008:
    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...ng=en&id=10568
Load up both the 32bit and 64bit DirectX Control Panels and enable Hardware Acceleration:
Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft DirectX SDK (March 2008) -> DirectX Utilities -> DirectX Control Panel -> DirectDraw -> Tick "Hardware Acceleration" -> Click OK
Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft DirectX SDK (March 2008) -> DirectX Utilities (64-Bit) -> DirectX Control Panel -> DirectDraw -> Tick "Hardware Acceleration" -> Click OK

This will mean that all the older versions of DirectX are correctly installed and should avoid problems (mainly with Renegade) of games loading and not showing anything but a black screen.

    Hi

I suggest that you install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package , it's worth a try.

It solved some of my game problems

    Kind Regards
