I think it is highly unlikely that a mobile version will be developed. It is unlikely they will be able to port it over to Android or IOS even for tablets and therefore new coding would be needed. Whilst there are a lot of fans in one sense, the demand is still likely to fall short of many modern new games.
Sorry, I did not see your post. You are right, they need extra resources to make it. In addition, I found another news why situation is hard.
