Stuttering/low fps when streaming Dead Space Remake

Hello!

I'm currently experiencing issues with streaming Dead Space Remake to Twitch via OBS. When I'm not streaming, I can run the game at 1440p max settings with DLSS set to Quality and experience minimal stuttering and average 80-100 FPS. When I stream, the game stutters a lot more (especially during cutscenes) and I average 30-40 FPS. Most interestingly, there will be periods of time where my framerate will jump back up to that 80 FPS area, but eventually some in game event will tank the framerate and stay at that low range continuously. Adjusting the in game settings, even down to low, does not seem to substantially improve the situation.

In OBS, when using NVENC encoding, the encoder will get overloaded and the stream will stutter significantly. Switching to x264 encoding makes the stream run smoother but I'm still experiencing the previously mentioned issues. Lowering the output resolution from 1080p to 720p alleviated the issues a little bit but not substantially.

My specs:

  • CPU: i7-8700k
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4
  • GPU: EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
  • Storage: 1 TB (2 x 500 GB RAID 0) Samsung 850 EVO SATA SSD

I was wondering if this is a known issue and/or are there additional steps I can take to improve performance while I'm streaming? I'm thoroughly enjoying the game and really want to stream it, but the significantly reduced and inconsistent performance is making that difficult.

Thank you for any and all help!
