Yeah...but...please excuse me, it's hard to believe something like this can be missed. When I would have to test a patch I would probably set up 3 to 4 pcs (for all presets from low, medium and high to ultra). On all of them would be DAI installed with the latest patch or beta candidate and all of them would have a variety of savegames provided by QA that let you quick-cut to main parts of the game, certain areas etc.. Beside the keyboard a rather huge checklist to test the menus, inventory, journal, codex, certain quests, certain game mechanics etc. Yes it would probably take a couple of work-days.
Of course QA would provide these savegames also with variety in mind. So of course some of them would've crafted materials in the character inventories, some looted and some bought stuff. And sure as hell would someone then spot the big "0" in several of the crafted shields.
Another reason I find it hard to believe is this: Patch 3 brought a slider for the size of the mouse cursor. The biggest of them has an obvious graphical glitch at the side of the cursor in the main menu. But in order to see this, one of your guys should've...you know...tested it. A new feature. Just pull the slider and look at the mouse cursor. You put a new feature in, you ought to test it at least once, wouldn't you???
Things like these just leave me totally clueless. I mean you're the experts. Might be my idea of QA above is totally wrong but I doubt I'm so far off in terms of simply having a look - just one - at new features.
