Xbox Game Pass PC/EA Desktop: Unable to load Save, Missing DLCs

1. A detailed description of your issue.

I was playing Dragon Age Inquisition with the available DLCs on EA Desktop through the EA Play with Game Pass PC subscription (Around 50 hours of play). Unfortunately, my game pass subscription expired. i renewed it and went on to play Inquisition again but it gave the error message "Unable to load save data as required downloadable content is missing. please download the content again. <Followed by a list of all the DLC>"

2. Your system.
a. Game Pass for PC Subscription

b. Dragon Age: Inquisition and all its DLCs installed and played through EA Desktop app.

3. Steps that you have already taken, if any.

a. I googled the issue and found this is a very common issue with this game, especially using it with EA pass on Steam or GamePass. However, the solution to fix it is either through Origin or Steam, which are not applicable when this problem arises on Game Pass + EA Desktop app.

b. I also created a case and had chats with 2 separate EA Help people for 3 hours and but none of their suggestions worked. Below are all the suggestions which i implemented but didn't work:

1. Uninstall, then reinstall the game and DLCs

2. Sign out of EA Desktop and Game Pass and/or restart PC and then re-login

3. Clear cache of EA Desktop and Origin

4. Make sure Account is logged in-game.

5. Verify whether same account between EA desktop and Game Pass PC is linked (I have same email for both and verified account linking).

6. Uninstall game, EA Desktop, then

In case of any suggestions for fix, Please note again that a) this is with Game Pass for PC, so Origin cannot be used, b) Fixes specific to Steam(like deletion of redundant steam game) cannot be used here and c) i can play other EA play games like Tropico 6 and Battlefield 5 fine (so not likely an account linking problem).

I got the same issue with you but my Gamepass was not expired. I got to talk with with EA Help and they fixed most of them on their end, but they were not able to get Black Emporium working again. I am locked out of a 26 hour save. I believe its something on their end and EA help is very hit or miss with help.

I literally have the same issue at the moment with the same stuation. My acccount expired I instantly renewed it and then I was locked out of the DLCs. IT says they are in the game folder installed but not activated or something like that. I wrote to EA support but still no answer.
I hope if you fix this to share how you fix it brother.

@oneblackhippieGood luck. i have spent another 2 hours with EA Help on Twitter who tried a lot of things but none worked. i have since uninstalled the game now. Not worth all the time spent.

Yeah, I am writing with EA Help too but in Facebook and they didn't resolve the issue as of this moment. They redirected me to XBOX Support who, frankly, are not responding in the same assertiveness that EA Helps does. I agree it's a hassle and the time spent on this is not worth it but I won't leave that random bug unresolved so I will write to them until they do something. If i fix this I will post here with the result.

They literally talked with me for a week, got into my account, tried some stuff and in the end did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Worst support ever.

I wouldn't be too hopeful about getting this fixed. EA doesn't seem to acknowledge it's a problem, and everything they suggest never works. I'm asking for a refund because I bought it specifically on Steam because of the Gamepass issues and still nothing.

Did anybody end up solving the problem? I am having the same issue and EA help isn't being really helpful yet.
Tried suggestions from 3 EA help people including
1. Uninstall/Reinstall.
2. Repair game (origin also has an issue of blowing my CPU after repairing game)
3. Clear cache.
4. Clear registry after manually deleting EA Desktop, Origin.
5. Various network settings.
6. New Account only use EA desktops
Finally they asked me to delete the game and clear registry but doubt it works.
Edit: of course it didn't work.
A different representative told me to watch the official twitter in case they find a solution. No timeline.

Has anyone found a fix for this issue? I've been having the same issue and have not found a solution at all.

I haven't and it doesn't seem like others have. Like above EA Help told me to watch their twitter account. One problem is there is no continuity to Help. One person told me to reboot in safemode, to attempt something. So I asked, wouldn't that disconnect us? Then he said another person will be able to help. So I did, the other person didn't do anything (especially not anything requiring safe mode) and told me to watch their social media lol. Not to mention, despite them putting in "Notes" I've had to explain the problem every time.

I have the same problem, except my game pass never expired. I had all DLCs available through game pass installed (everything except Trespasser), and the game worked normally across multiple play sessions for dozens of hours. Then yesterday I got this same error message.
I hopped on a support chat session with EA, they had me run through similar steps. I've tried clearing the cache, restarting etc, eventually I uninstalled the game and EA desktop, restarted, then reinstalled both. Nothing worked, I still get the same error message.
I get the same error when loading all of my old saves, which means save corruption is very unlikely.
Other EA game pass games work, which means my account is fine.
The EA chat representative then told me that there must be a bug on their end, but he couldn't tell me if it would ever be fixed and that they couldn't contact me about the issue to let me know if they ever did fix it.

My whole experience with EA play on PC with Xbox game pass has been a buggy disaster from start to finish, but preventing me from loading up my saves really takes the cake.
Edit: checking in two months later, hasn't been fixed.
