[Discussion] Faction Strength Gain? The Mourn Watch & The Veil Jumpers

Don’t know if this is an issue/bug or not, maybe this just wasn’t implemented.

When you go around the Necropolis and fix things in regards to the restless spirits and undead, you can see the Necropolis calm down and people returning to the Necropolis Halls, but you don’t gain any Faction Strength. These aren’t marked quests, it’s things you find as you explore the Necropolis, but should you be able to agin Faction Strength from those actions?

Cause you can find some hidden Quests/Mysteries in Arlathan Forest and gain Faction Strength for the Veil Jumpers for some of them. Just wondering if this is supposed to be the same for the Mourn Watchers when you deal with the restless spirits and undead in the Necropolis?

I am playing on PS5 and the current patch is Patch 1.000.004

    Certain actions within the Necropolis, such as resolving issues with restless spirits and undead, can influence your standing with the Mourn Watch faction. While some of these tasks are part of marked quests that clearly reward you with Faction Strength, others are unmarked and may not provide explicit rewards.

    For example, the quest "Hauntings: Deathly Curiosity" involves dealing with a malevolent spirit in the Necropolis. Completing this quest grants rewards, including Mourn Watch Strength. As per GamerGuides

    However, other unmarked activities, such as calming spirits or addressing minor disturbances, might not directly increase your Faction Strength. This design choice encourages exploration and immersion without always providing tangible rewards for every action.

    In contrast, in areas like Arlathan Forest, certain hidden quests and mysteries do actually grant Faction Strength with the Veil Jumpers upon completion. The difference in rewards between regions and factions may be intentional, reflecting the unique dynamics and values of each faction.

    If you believe that specific actions should yield Faction Strength but do not due to bugs in the save, or how the game is being saved as per your choices, we can send that over as feedback.
