How to do Regrets of the Dreadwolf properly ?

Hi all

My first character could not trigger the last dreamsequence "Heights og Althim" I think was called. 

On my second character I have done all the regrets simply by exploring (the first staute starts the quest). Which made the quest go away as completed when all statues have been collected...

Is it safe to collect all the regrets (statues) before getting the quest where you get one statue handed to you (in the cobbled swan I think it was)?

I read about not being able to place the statues if you collect them before you get the last one in the cobbled swan

It would be super frustrating to have the quest bugging out on me again, not sure I will start a 3rd char if that would be the case...

Somebody knows in what order you are supposed to do this ??

    I understand how frustrating it can be when a quest doesn’t work as expected. Regarding the "Regrets of the Dreadwolf" quest, here’s what I’ve learned:

    1. Collecting Statues Before Starting the Quest: It’s generally safer to avoid collecting all the statues before triggering the quest. Doing so might prevent the quest from properly progressing since some games don’t recognize pre-collected items as valid quest items.
    2. Cobbled Swan Trigger: Ensure that you officially start the quest by receiving the statue in the Cobbled Swan before actively collecting the other statues. This usually prevents any progression bugs.
    3. Proper Sequence:
      • Trigger the quest by getting the first statue handed to you at the Cobbled Swan.
      • Collect the other statues in the recommended order as marked on the map.
      • Return and place the statues only after collecting all of them.
    4. Game Version or Patch: If the issue persists even after following the proper sequence, it might be a bug specific to your game version. Check if you’re running the latest patch or updates for the game.

      Thank you very much for your kind advice 😀

      As my first character bugged out when collecting the memories after the Cobbled Swan I collected them all before that on my second character.

      For me this worked and I have now been able to finish the quest

      On my first character I placed the statues after each one was found and, as you say, maybe that was what bugged the quest

        Been thinking...perhaps it is patch related

        It does not seem to matter how far back in my saves I go with the first (bugged) character

        But my second character, created after latest patch, can finish the quest

        Maybe if you have a character created before one of the released patches it cannot complete this quest

    Ah well my mistake the quest is still there, but my question remains, anybody knows if you can place all the statues if you find them in the "wild" before getting the one handed to you ?
