[PC] Game crashes on launch

Whenever I launch the game, I get this DirectX error message saying that my video card has been removed. It's been like this since the game came out. I've tried everythings I could find on the internet to fix it, to the point I had to reinstall Windows because my other games were no longer working either anymore. But even that did not solve the issue. Out of frustration, I refunded the game after 2 weeks. Now, 2 months and 4 patches later, the game is on sale on Steam so I thought I give it a try again. I updated my graphics driver and launched it but unfortunately, I still get the same error message (See the screenshot in the attachment).

It's really frustrating that patches are coming out that fix minor audio issues or add useless functions like a photo mode, but nothing is being done about this. Another tread on this forum addressed this issue but it was marked as 'solved', even though the issue is not solved at all for many people. Link:  DirectX Error | EA Forums - 5003098

So I thought I open a new thread for those who still have this issue, as I suspect the EA mods are no longer looking at posts that are marked as 'solved'. Hopefully by posting it again, I keep this issue alive so that it will actually be addressed.

I followed all the steps you described here, but I still get the same error when trying to launch the game. Also, I don't see any links to pages that deal with this error as well.

Hey, so to answer your question, this error happens regardless of your GPU, and the reason is that the game uses PhysX. Here are the most common steps to resolve it, with a few links to some pages that also deal with this error. When that pops up for others, it's almost the same error with a different GPU name and maybe a different file path. This includes Steam and the EA app.

    1. Uninstall Existing PhysX Drivers:
      • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
      • Navigate to Programs and Features.
      • Locate any existing NVIDIA PhysX installations, select them, and choose Uninstall.
    2. Download and Install the Latest PhysX Software:
      • Visit the official NVIDIA website to download the latest PhysX system software.
      • Download NVIDIA PhysX System Software
      • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
    3. Restart Your Computer:
      • After the installation is complete, restart your computer to apply the changes.
    4. Run the Game as Administrator:
      • Right-click on the Dragon Age: Inquisition shortcut or executable file.
      • Select Run as administrator to launch the game with elevated privileges.
    5. Verify Game Files:
      • If you're using a platform like Origin or Steam, use the built-in feature to verify the integrity of the game files.
      • For Origin:
        • Open Origin and go to My Game Library.
        • Right-click on Dragon Age: Inquisition and select Repair.
      • For Steam:
        • Open Steam and go to the Library.
        • Right-click on Dragon Age: Inquisition, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab, and click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
    6. Check for Windows Updates:
      • Ensure your operating system is up to date, as missing updates can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
      • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click on Check for updates.
    7. Disable Background Applications:
      • Some background applications, especially security software, can interfere with game execution.
      • Temporarily disable any non-essential applications and try launching the game again.

Hello, this issue has not been resolved for me either (PC user.) Here is my error message while the game was paused. My question is if this has been happening with all types of GPUs or certain ones? Thankfully, the game autosaves enough to where I do not worry much about where I left off but it does discourage me from playing when it happens every hour.
