White screen and frozen game at meditating action

It seems like every time I medidate in Rook's room the screen turns white but does not proceed with the scene. This started happening yesterday, and the only thing I can do is force-shut down the game. Except that then the EA app registers the game as "still playing" so I need to switch off my PC every single time and try again.

Now it happens with the wardrobe as well (as in the screen stays black for a bit, then reload Rook's room except that everything is frozen) and even when I shut down and reload, I cannot use the meditating action anymore (or the wardrobe), so I cannot proceed with the game.

I also tried reloading a previous save but I am still stuck.

2 month old thread, but any solutions found?  I'm having the same issue trying to meditate after returning from the Minrathous/Treviso attack.  effectively unable to play since this key story point is locked out.

  • Also having the same issue, but after restarting my computer, I was able to meditate without getting the hang.

I was able to get past it.  I first did a restart alongside a file verification in Steam, which actually did not work.

I ended up turning around and going back through the eluvian to the crossroads and immediately returned to the lighthouse.  The meditation scene loaded fine after that.
