  • Hello @A54188a0,

    I moved your post to the English forum, as I'm assuming that you don't speak German. Please always make sure to post in the correct language forum.

    Regarding your issue, please add the EA App and any games you play through it as an exception to your antivirus and start them as administrator.

    I get the a popup message that reads:

    “Background services blocked.

    We wailed to retrieve your info because a firewall or anti-virus program on your device blocked the app’s background services”

    I have this problem with all of my EA Games.

    I bought the games via Steam,

    My PC meets all the requirements and I’ve played these games on the same PC a while ago in the past and they worked fine.

    I've already tried marking EA games and Electronic Arts folders to the Kaspersky exclusions list, but still have the same problem ☹️

    Has anyone else here had that or a similar problem?

    Any pointers are welcome and greatly appreciated 🙂

    Hello @SilverRar,

    could you launch the EA app and the games as administrator and try deactivating Kaspersky completely for a bit?

    This antivirus program can be quite stubborn when it comes to letting games start, so completely turning it off might be worth a try.

    If that doesn't work, please try a clean boot.

  • Hello EA_Pythia 🙂

    thanks for the response and sorry for my late reply ^^;

    I tried to open both EA desktop and the game by running as administrator.

    When I tried to do this with the game, I got a different popup message that read:

    You don’t have access. This title may have been downloaded to your device be another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again”

    I know I’ve bought the game with my account, I’m the only person who uses this computer, lol

    I tried the clean boot method you mentioned, but whenever I disabled all services and clicked apply, Kaspersky automatically turned itself back on, it wouldn’t let me uncheck the box.

    I still tried this with all the other startups disabled, and still got the 2nd error message that told me I didn’t have access

    Hello @SilverRar,

    you will have to uncheck the option of Kaspersky launching at start-up within the Kaspersky app. Or do you mean that it's not possible to uncheck the box there?

    Do you try to open the game through Steam or through the EA app?

  • Hello EA_Pythia 🙂

    I tried starting it through Steam originally but it mostly crashed before it could open,

    sometimes I got the “Background services blocked” message, but not always

    I tried unchecking the option of Kaspersky Launching at start-up in the app, but still got the same popup message as before when I tried to run the game.

    With Kaspersky disabled at launch, I still get the “Background services blocked” popup when I open it in Steam,

    Also, even with launch at start up option disabled within the Kaspersky app, I skill couldn’t uncheck Kaspersky in the msconfig startup services

    When I try to run the app as administrator and got the “You don’t have access” popup message

    And there wasn’t an option to open the game via the EA app ^^;
