Hi there,
From the error in your screenshot, the first thing I would check is which EA Account your Steam account is currently linked to.
Battlefield 3 on Steam requires that your Steam account be linked to an EA Account so that ownership of the game can be verified. Since you previously played this copy through Steam, your Steam account would have been linked to an EA Account at that time.
Please try the following:
- Sign out of the EA app.
- Go to the EA Account sign-in page.
- Choose Sign in with Steam instead of entering an email address manually.
- Sign in with the same Steam account that owns Battlefield 3.
This should help you identify the EA Account currently linked to that Steam account. Once you have confirmed the account, sign into the EA app with that EA Account and try launching Battlefield 3 through Steam again. Please do not unlink your Steam account as a troubleshooting step. Game entitlements can remain associated with the EA Account the platform account was originally linked to, so unlinking and relinking accounts can complicate account access issues.
If signing in through Steam takes you to an old EA Account that you can no longer access, or you still cannot access Battlefield 3 after confirming the correct account, please contact our support team. We can help check the account connection and assist with recovering access where possible.
I would check the Steam-to-EA Account connection before reinstalling the game or making any changes to your linked accounts.
Let us know how you get on.
