Can't install game from Epic games

Product: The EA app
Platform:PC
Error Report ID (learn how to create an Error Report ID in the sticky post)
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Other (Please Describe)
Please describe Linking epic games account with EA account/App
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 17/07/23 5:00 PM
Summarize your bug I got Battlefront for free in Epic games some time ago but I never installed it, I decided to install it to play 2 days ago but when I pressed to install it, it opened the EA app and an error appeared, and it said: Something went wrong... To continue linking your EA Account, head back and start over. It doesn't even appear the screen to link accounts.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know, I couldn't find other people having the same problem as me online, with epic games I mean.
What happens when the bug occurs? The error message appears with nothing but the text I mentioned, all I can do is close the screen.
What do you expect to see? I expected to see a screen to link my epic games account to my EA account

Hi @MartinnSouzza Can we try going through the following link to connect your EA and Epic accounts? After trying to launch your game and check if the same message pops up.

If the error does continue try closing the EA app, verifying the game in Epic, and relaunching.

    Cheers!

  • Same bug here bro

    No solution yet?
no matter the game, is the same bug, the last one was EA Sport

  • I recently got Dragon Age: Inquisition through Epic Games and linking my account seemed to work but the game will not install on the Epic Games launcher, nor does it show up in my EA library despite the accounts being linked. Is there a solution for this bug yet? Other users seem to be having the same problem.

Im having the same problem with the same game i got it on epic games for free but when i try to download it it just says “this title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again.” i created an ea games account just for this game and its not working.

What worked for me was this: when a popup wanted me to login (I was already logged in, so again I logged off; I tried everything the internet suggested, reinstalling both apps, no linking option available, etc.), I typed my login, and then I clicked "I forgot my password." After creating a new password, everything went straight forward. It's a bug, not a user problem. Now, in my EA account settings, I have EPIC GAMES linked; Epic was not present there before.

  • Same for me when i try to install IT TAKES 2 on Epic.
