Can't link XBOX to EA Account

I've now spent about three hours trying to get my account linked as well and nothing. Exceptionally frustrating. The chat person was helpful, but ultimately, every time I click the xbox link to login, I use my Microsoft Credentials and EA's site tells me to reset the password.
I give up.
