Can't link XBOX to EA Account

Dear EA,

unfortunately after spending 2+ hours trying to solve this issue I still can not link my XBOX Account to my EA Account.

Where to start?

I have got my XBOX account and my one and only EA account.

I never deleted this EA Account in the past.

As seen in the following screenshots I can not use my XBOX credentials to log in on your website.

But I can log in on your website, Origin and your new BETA EA Client (Windows 11) using my one and only EA account as I know the e-mail address & password.

If I try to connect to my XBOX Account inside the BETA EA Client I receive the following error:

I headed to https://account.live.com/consent/Manage to look for EA connections, deleted them and went over to https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/connectaccounts/index to check for the link status inside "My Account" > "Connections" - nothing relevant there:

Up to this point I had already changed the password several times (nothing changed).

I didn't know what to do next so I went over to help.ea., opened a case to communicate to an EA advisor and got one.

He was really kind and tried to help me (read the transcript of the live chat on your own) but in the end he just said that he passed the incident on to his team (they are aware of this problem) and can't really do anything currently.

Transcript: https://pastebin.com/4zD2X7hF

Is there anything I'm missing?

Thank you very much in advance.

Yours

I got in! I first logged into both Origin and EA, then I logged out. I then logged into Xbox game pass and went to settings and to linked accounts. Down at the bottom it says EA then manage to the right. I clicked on manage and was able to access what ever account ea and Xbox thought were connected(my guess from 20 years ago old me account). Then was able to unlink my account inside ea. I think somehow xbox was attached to my old ea account and couldn’t login till I unattached. I was then able to re login to ea by clicking on the Xbox symbol and signed in and was good to go. I hope you are able to get help from this. I wish all the best to whoever reads this and is able to get in.

  • I've now spent about three hours trying to get my account linked as well and nothing. Exceptionally frustrating. The chat person was helpful, but ultimately, every time I click the xbox link to login, I use my Microsoft Credentials and EA's site tells me to reset the password.

    I give up.

@EA_Illium  @Justintime0414  Thanks for your time and contribution but this couldn't help me neither.

@all please use the "Me too" button on this thread to show EA easily how many people are affected by this problem.

In my opinion, the fault lies with EA.

Apparently, the problem is based on old, deleted accounts that make it impossible to resolve a former XBOX - EA connection.

No knowledge about an old (alleged) account = no possibility to ever reconnect to that account.

    I am quite frustrated.

No other major games provider has such problems (I have been playing various PC games for 15 years and have connected accounts many times).

    EDIT:

@EA_Illium  Why does this thread say "This topic has an EA-approved solution"?

I removed the marked solution due to several people having this issue unsolved!

  • I'm having this issue as well. They kept asking for my original gamertag and asked if I had bought a used system. I was eventually given the original gamertag that my EA account was tied to which I haven't used in maybe a decade that was on an Xbox 360 I have since gotten rid of or ported over to a new one. They referred me to Xbox about the gamertag which is attached to an inactive email. Xbox won't give me access to the account either because I don't have the serial number of the Xbox or the CC number of the card that I used to buy games on.

It's a giant convoluted mess that EA has no fix for. I've gone through the same loopholes as you with no progress.

    Justintime0414,

Could you help me out with this part-

"I then logged into Xbox game pass and went to settings and to linked accounts. Down at the bottom it says EA then manage to the right."

I don't know where to log in separate for XBOX Game Pass. Do you mean just XBOX home page? I can't find the "Settings" button you mention.

    Thank you

    Witz
