Can't open sims ea app

I play Sims 4 on my mac. I know it's not meant for gaming, but it works well enough. My problem isn't with mac or apple, however. My problem is with EA. I recently deleted and redownloaded Sims (which took over 24 hours) because I needed to free up some space. But since redownloading, I opened Sims once, it crashed and I had to force quit, and I now I can't get it to open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app. I've repaired the game multiple times. I don't know what else to do.

The Origin App for mac had its issues, but I was always able to fix them. The new EA App for mac crashes all the time. Sometimes the app itself won't even load and I have to relaunch it three or four times. I would just go back to using Origin, but EA literally doesn't let you. If you have Origin installed, there's a pop-up that doesn't go away and forces you to download the EA App to replace Origin.

Anyone else having these problems? Recommendations?
