Constantly have to repair EA app

I've been having an issue where the EA app constantly needs to be repaired and won't launch properly (or crashes and then won't restart properly). When it's having those issues I can't play any EA games until I fix it. Really frustrating since I haven't had this problem with any other game launchers

Honestly, I just want Origin back. The EA app has been nothing but trouble compared to how smooth Origin was.

  • This has been happening ever since I disconnected and uninstalled OneDrive. I lost access to everything sims and ea related, then had to repair the ea app and reinstall all my sims stuff. It's still happening for the EA app. It keeps disappearing. I'm not sure if it's due to removing OneDrive or not though.

I just did this last night and the launcher is STILL broken. I'm so frustrated. I can't play my games that I paid for. I find myself troubleshooting multiple times a day just to play.

  • I partialy solved the problem. My husband had installed battlenet launcher (played wow), both launchers had turned on option to start when pc turns on. I disabled this option on both EA app and battlenet and it is less buggy. Also disabling background service help. Still sometimes shows I don't have any games installed or that app crashed, but its not every day.

@xena311 @domcikasim575, Could you try using a program removal tool like Revo Uninstaller*? The free version should be sufficient.

*This is a third-party tool, not sponsored or endorsed by EA, but it's highly effective at uninstalling programs and removing leftover files, which the default Windows uninstallation process often misses.

Use Revo Uninstaller to remove the EA app, let it scan for any leftover files, reboot your PC, and then download a new copy of the client from https://ea.com/ea-app and install it. See if this resolves the issue.

If the problem persists, please create a new local Windows Administrator account and check if the issue occurs on that account as well. If it doesn't, there may be something on your regular Windows account that is preventing the client from working properly.

Windows. And I don't have problems with performance for any games, so I don't think it makes much sense that the launcher itself has so many problems

  • I have the same issue. I use windows and every time I turn on the computer and try to launch the app there are 3 ways what happens: or it doesn't resopond (literally nothing happens after running the launcher), or the app doesn't load (I see grey window - I can keep it for hours and it won't load) or popup window shows up saing the item I try to open does not exist anymore, even though the app is istalled. Sometimes App Recovery helps, but most of the time it does not. Almost every time I have to re-install the app. It is really annoying doing this every single day, sometimes multiple times in one day. The EA app is updated into latest version.
