When I installed the EA App to replace Origin, the Origin -originated Sims 4 was still on my computer. I thought I would have to download it again, although I was a little suspicious why would I download the game again if I already have it. I had the sims 4 in my collections, but I couldnt open the game page, it says servers encountered error or something like that. There is a clock icon on the sims 4 game and it says loading. I'll have to wait hours to the download icon to pop up. After it does, I start the download, but it gets stuck on the preparing / calculating time stage. I left it overnight, but nothing happened. I can't press pause or cancel, otherwise it just freezes and I'll have to ctrl+shift+esc close the app. And when I reopen the app, it's calculating time. If I recover App from the App, the clock icon comes back and now I have to wait again for hours to start the ''download''. If I manually clear the cache from EA desktop and open the EA app, I can start the downloading part without waiting for the clock icon to disappear. But again it gets stuck on the calculating time stage.

I have un- and reinstalled the EA app. I deleted the old sims 4 I had, because I thought maybe that was the issue. No help. Before I deleted the Sims 4 I had downloaded from Origin years ago, I tried to launch the game, but it said I don't have access, because the game was installed from somewhere else (or something like that).

So, I have:

- Uninstalled the Ea app

- Reinstalled the Ea app

- Done the App recovery

- Cleared the cache manually

- Deleted Origin files

- Deleted the Sims 4

- Shut down my computer

- Moved any sims 4 files to different location so that the Ea App can create its own sims file

- It shouldn't be because of my internet, my downloading speed was 94 Mbps, uploading 49 Mbps

Nope, nothing worked so I had to install the game to a other computer and that worked. I don’t know if my computer was the problem or what, but I had no problems installing it to a other computer. Just moved all the CC and saves to the new PC. Luckily I had a another computer I was able to use, the issue was so frikkin annoying and EA had no idea how to fix it ☹️

I am also having the same issue. Unfortunately, I do not have another computer. I have a nice gaming laptop that is only a couple years old, I shouldn't have to buy a new computer to get this app to work! I really wish they had left Origin active since the EA app doesn't work. They should work out the bugs before discontinuing the app that worked! So frustrating ☹️ I really want access to my games, especially with the new Sims update and expansion pack coming out. I'm so bummed I haven't been able to play in over a month and will likely miss out on all the new content.
